Malaysian Election and Boston Attack: An Overview

On 15/4/2013 there are two bombs exploded during the Boston marathon. The authority said that at least three people are killed including an 8 years old boy and more than 200 people were injured. The investigation had concluded that two ethnic Chechens are implicated to this terror attack. The name of one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, Tamerlan Tsarnaev who was killed by the Police, had been instrumental for this attack whereas his brother, Dzhokhar, 19, who was captured on last Friday, was collaborator for the said attack.   At the press meeting the Boston mayor had indicated there are no prior threats on terrorist attack had received by the authority to stop the marathon event. This terror attack is an astounding attack. No one had predicted that this can happened in this event. The authority had said that the place of marathon has been secured for 72 hours before the marathon is started. There is no imminent threat. It is evidenced that the bombs are detonated by t

Are we ready for the change?

By next Monday, we as Malaysians will know the outcome of PRU (General Election) 13. There are many predication. One from mainstream medias are predicated that BN is going to win. The other from alternative medias which are in favour of opposition. Last few days, I was in various places, from Bandar Tun Razak, Semenyih, Segambut, Lembah Pantai, Subang, Puchong to Klang, the obvious or notable evidence was the mood of the people for the change. Most of them who I had chatted with only had one/single issue in their conversations that they wanted the change. They said it's quite long for one party ruled our nation and they are bored with the way they are been governed. They felt that  their unhappiness and suffering did not reach the people who walk on the corridors of power. Further they said nothing solid and concrete had been done since 2008 of their grievousness and they felt they just had been ignored. I think this is the general feelings of the people throughout

Malaysian State Cited by Opposition Politicians as Model for Future

By STUART GRUDGINGS | REUTERS                                                                                                                                Published: April 22, 2013  GEORGETOWN, Malaysia — Lim Guan Eng, the effusive chief minister of Penang state in Malaysia, is not the type to miss a good photo opportunity, so there were plenty of witnesses when he handed over the keys to his government-provided Mercedes before a May 5 general election. Integrity is a central battle cry for Malaysia’s disparate three-party opposition as it pursues what appears to be its best chance yet of ending 56 years of rule by the Barisan Nasional, or B.N., coalition. “The official cars should not be misused for our own personal use,” Mr. Lim, a 52-year-old ethnic Chinese, told reporters as his administration shifted to caretaker status this month. “This is the integrity held by the state administration.” Five years after the opposition took contr

A Simple Note to Malaysian Indians

We have been cheated again. This is not the first time. It had be done many times by different people i.e. our own people and outsiders for decades. But for sure we never changed. We always trust wrong people as our true leaders. These leaders are the biggest culprits. They always proclaimed themselves as the emperor, saint, or as a friend who later will slaughter the society without mercy. It had been proven again and again. But we refused to learn. Probably we won't learn at all. That's because we do not know our rights. The leaders have to listen, yes, have to listen what we wanted. They cannot assumed and pushed us to accept their agenda. That's not a democracy. Democracy means people are the masters for the nation and they entrust the leaders to execute their aspirations not the other way around. We also allow 'others' to determine our future. These aliens aka colonists always use what ever the opportunity to abuse and d

Stop the 'time bomb' going off

Some disasters can be avoided if only we are more mindful HOW does the ordinary man, woman, or child avoid being a casualty of a random massacre or bombing? This must surely be on the minds of most people who have been following the news this past week. On Monday, two bombs were set off at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, in the United States, killing three people and wounding 175. Two days later, on Wednesday, an explosion at a fertiliser plant in Texas flattened nearly the entire town, injuring about 200, and took the lives of reportedly 14 people. On that same day, in Peshawar, Pakistan, a suicide bomb attack killed at least 17 people  -- the fourth deadly attack in the country in the week. And  the memory of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, which took the lives of 20 children and six teachers on  Dec 14 last year is surely still an open wound, not just to the immediate family and friends of the victims, but to parents the

BOSTON BOMBING: Terrorists are the unknown enemies within

ON Monday, the United States was under siege again. In Boston, two bombs detonated within a span of 17 seconds. Three people were killed, including an 8-year-old child. More than 140 people were injured, with some in critical condition. This is the worst terrorist attack in the US since Sept 11, 2001. Interestingly, the Boston mayor and other relevant authorities have confirmed that there was no prior threat or indication that an attack was imminent. The bombs were placed near the finish line. The authorities also found two more bombs at the site. This reminds me of how Sept 11 and the London bombings (July 7, 2005) were executed. The Boston attack was well planned by a terrorist group. According to the authorities, it could have been al-Qaeda or home-grown terrorists. The video footage of the incident is shocking. The attack was executed dramatically to impact American society. The terrorists succeeded in this mission. Again, the issue of lax se

Boston Terror Attack and Malaysian Election 2013

Today there are two bombs exploded during the Boston marathon. The authority said that at least three people are killed including an 8 years old boy and more than 140 people were injured. The investigation is going on to determine who had done this terror attack. At the press meeting the Boston mayor had indicated there are no prior threats had received by the authority to stop the marathon event. This terror attack is an astounding attack. No one had predicted that this can happened in this event. The authority had said that the place of marathon has been secured for 72 hours before the marathon is started. There is no imminent threat. It is highly possible that the bombs can be planted or placed when the marathon is started. These attacks also can be done by anyone who had participated or any bystander of Boston marathon who had come from different countries. The attack is well planned and executed. This can be done by a person; group or organization that had evaded in w

National Defence Policy

Malaysia's defence policy is a manifestation of its goal for the protection of its national strategic interests and the preservation of national security. The defence policy outlines three basic fundamentals namely national strategic interests, principles of defence and the concept of defence. It emphasises on the need for the maintenance of a stable and peaceful environment of the immediate areas of its strategic interests. Malaysia's strategic interests are viewed from three-tiers encompassing the areas of immediate vicinity, regional and global. The areas of its immediate vicinity comprise the land territories, territorial waters, airspace, the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), the Straits of Malacca and its approaches, and the Straits of Singapore as well as the sea and air lines of communication connecting Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah and Sarawak. The regional areas of interest to Malaysia cover Southeast Asia, including Andaman Islands as
