Dear Government of Malaysia,
Thank you so much Bapa Tun for your endless effort to
restore our dignity.
The day is finally arrived in Malaysia.
The new horizon already on rise.
The darkest cloud(s) which makes many Malaysians
put in rest at last.
The nation is awakening now.
We have high hope on you to reform and transform
this nation for our future generation.
Even though, we won the battle but there is no time
for us to seek for revenge as you said.
The biggest punishments for these 'traitors' who
swindled and 'raped' this nation without mercy should be left alone.
These people need to be isolated from our
society and make them to realise what kind of the damages that they had done to
this nation.
Let's we leave them alone.
But, if these people had done something which is
detrimental i.e. damaging the good reputation of our beloved nation then they
should be punished according to the law of this country.
We have to observe and follow the rule of law.
Apart from that, the focus now should be on the
progress and stability of this nation.
People had suffered enough.
The first priority is to overcome the hardship
of people by controlling the essential goods prices and abolish GST.
This priority is part of Pakatan Harapan’s election
manifesto.
Then, the restoration of the independency of essential government
institutions or bodies should be in the highest precedence.
For instance, the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission needs
to fully independent and must be answerable to the Parliament only and not
under the Prime Minster Department.
Further, the MACC Act need to be amended by the parliament
to give prosecution powers to them without referring and getting the permission
from the Attorney General.
In addition, the PDRM must accept the formation of the
Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) to restore
their reputation. In addition, the appointment of the IGP and DIGP need to be accepted
and confirmed by the Parliament.
Then, the Election Commission must be reformed. They must
adapt, implement and practice the universal election principles with the
highest integrity. This Commission also must be fully independent and must be
under the Parliament rather than the Prime Minister Department. The current
government also can adopt the recommendations made by the NGOs like BERSIH and
C4.
In addition, the Human Rights Commission (SUHAKAM) also
need to be independent and not under the Prime Minister Department. The
commissioners must be confirmed by the Parliament. The recommendations of
SUHAKAM need to be given the utmost importance by implementing it within the
government machineries.
The members of the judiciary must by elected by the
independent judiciary commission where these members will be confirmed by the
Parliament. The government should observe the doctrine of the separation of the
powers by separating the Judiciary, Executive and Legislative. By doing this,
one power for example the Executive will not assumed so much of power because
absolute power corrupts absolutely. The biggest weaknesses of the previous government
where there is no separation of powers and the head of the Executive assumed so
much power. This needs to be prevented.
For the nation building the foundations must be strong. The
integrity and accountability of the leaders are well appreciated. Without these
values ones can build the nation with sustainability.
The nation can move forward, now.
The Malaysians elected a new government based on the trust.
They strongly believed that this government can rebuild this nation and reinstate
the status on the eyes of the world.
It’s not time for any kind of celebrations and we have
start our rebuilding work now.
This country belongs to us. It’s our duty to assist the new
government to rebuild this nation again. We have the obligations to make this
nation prosperous again for our children.
The future is so bright for us now.
Kuala Lumpur.
