New Hope, New Malaysia

It’s a massive and hard earned victory for BN. This is a new beginning of politics in Malaysia. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has a huge responsibility. There are enormous expectations from people the direction of our PM to lead our country to new and progressive direction.

His leadership style is very similar to his late father, Tun Abdul Razak. He is accommodative and given consensus to various parties to work together with him to achieve the national interests.

The transformation which is taken place in our country now is very much similar to United Kingdom (UK) during Tony Blair era. At the time in UK, the Conservative Party had turmoil and the country was in disarray. Tony Blair who took over the leadership of Labour Party came up with slogan, New Labour that had appealed to younger generation with the policies which had elevated their aspirations. This became instrumental for the Labour Party to gain huge majority in the election to lead the nation. Further Prime Minister Tony Blair was reelected with sound victory again.

Meanwhile in across the Atlantic Ocean, the people of United States of America need a fresh breeze because they so disoriented with war on terror. Therefore they elected and reelected again President Barack Obama because he gave them a new hope.

The fresh mandate given by Malaysians to Prime Minister Najib has indicated the new hope. In last four years the way he turned around our country had thrilled the people. With his transformation plans the country is moving to the veracious and enlightened direction. But he has had his antagonists within and outside his party.

He needs to emulate like his father. That’s a very pleasant task where Prime Minister Najib will execute it very easily.

Even though his primary goals will be within Malaysia but he has to grasp beyond the existing parameters.

His father can be his best role model. Tun Razak is best remembered as among the first person who had extended diplomatic relationship with China at the pinnacle of cold war. During Tun Razak tenure, Malaysia is well respected regionally and internationally.

Our Prime Minster has all means to achieve this. Lately we have seen very shallow foreign policies which have not given a clear direction of our position as a prominent nation regionally and globally.

Another biggest task of his by taking reasonable steps to remove the ‘old school of thought’ practitioners within his party and coalition  to gain substantial mandate to implement his transformation policies for the benefit of this country. Our Prime Minister has all the potential to become a great statesman if he can successfully eliminate his distractors within.

Apart from that, for good governance of the country ones need to have good advisors and strategists. This people must be brave, blunt, unbiased, intelligent, clear conscience and most importantly be independent like Mr Hoover and Mr Kissinger in USA, when they wanted to advice Prime Minster. This will allow our PM to access and analyze the information which is given to him for the betterment of our country. He cannot allowed this self-headed people who wanted to please him by giving the information that he wanted to hear and hidden the true situation of what people expected from him.

He is the leader of our nation now. We as the people of this country must be reconciled as what he had requested us to do by putting aside our differences for future of this nation.

I can observe there is a New Hope where our Prime Minister is going leads this pronounced nation for its prominence in near future.

Kuala Lumpur.

India-Malaysia ties and the future

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is on his first official visit to India. The main aim of this visit is to seek support for Malaysia’s application to join Brics and to fortify bilateral ties, as the country is keen to improve its connections with one of the rapidly expanding economies in Asia. In light of the increasing crumbling of the global order, particularly stemming from trade disputes between the United States and China, as well as the proxy conflict involving the United States and Russia, Malaysia is encouraged to reassess its foreign policy to uphold its neutral stance. Given India’s status as the largest democracy and the fifth-largest economy globally, along with its notable advancements in indigenous space and defence technologies, it is proposed that India emerge as Malaysia’s key partner in the years ahead. Why India is important for Malaysia The historical ties between India and Malaysia extend back several centuries, with significant Indian cultural, religious, and administ...

THE HISTORY OF TERRORISM: MORE THAN 200 YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT

The history of terrorism dates back at least 1500 years when Jewish resistance groups (66 - 72 A.D.) known as Zealots killed Roman soldiers and destroyed Roman property. The term assassin comes from a Shi'ite Muslim sect (Nizari Isma'ilis - also known as hashashins "hashish-eaters") fighting Sunni Muslims (1090 - 1275) and during Medieval Christendom resisting occupation during the Crusades (1095-1291). The hashashins were known to spread terror in the form of murder, including women and children. The brotherhood of Assassins committed terror so as to gain paradise and seventy-two virgins if killed and to receive unlimited hashish while on earth. The modern development of terrorism began during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror (1793 - 1794). During this period the term terrorism was first coined. Through the past two hundred years, terrorism has been used to achieve political ends and has developed as a tool for liberation, oppression, and i...

The by-election in Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB) and the Indian electorate

I was born in Malaysia, belonging to the Indian ethnic group, which constitutes approximately 7% of the country's total population. My durable credence is that I am Malaysian first and foremost, and only then do I identify myself as Indian. Regrettably, it saddens me to witness and hear about the actions of certain politicians who question my loyalty to Malaysia. What is even more disheartening is that some Malaysians have been influenced by the manipulative rhetoric of these self-serving politicians. Recently, I have observed numerous discussions on both mainstream and online news platforms regarding the recognition and inclusion of Indians by ruling parties. Surprisingly, even the opposition has displayed a significant interest in the welfare of Indians. Upon contemplating the reasons behind this sudden surge in attention towards Indians, it becomes evident that it is primarily driven by the upcoming Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB) by-election. It is noteworthy that such ...
